REPORT ON MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ENTERED IN TO WITH KAMPALA UNIVERSITY (UGANDA)

A delegation led by Dr. Rajeev Rai, Chairman AVK Group Of Institutions visited Kampala Uganda in the month of February this year on the invitation of Vice Chancellor, Kampala University Uganda , Prof Badru Kateregga. The delegation identified the areas of cooperation between the two Institutions for Higher Learning in various fields of education. The delegation entered in to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kampala University pursuant to the high level cooperation between the two Governments. The memorandum of understanding identified the areas of developing cooperation in the field of higher education.



It was agreed that on the basis of equality and reciprocity collaborative activities in the academic areas of mutual interest will be undertaken in future. The fields of cooperation would be research, higher learning for faculty development, teaching for students and joint academic publications. For this AVK Group of Institutions agreed in principal to provide training at its various campuses to staff and students of the university at its campuses located at Bangalore. The unique feature of the MOU being that the AVK group will design a customised educational and training programme for various educational Institutions operating in Uganda.

As a follow up measure of this MOU a one man delegation represented by Dr. Ronald Semyallo visited the group on 19th of Sept 2011 on behalf of the Kampala University School of Nursing. A meeting was addressed by Dr. Rajeev Rai and the areas of cooperation were identified for Tutor lecturer exchange programme. Upgradation of education of Nursing students on completion of their education at Kampala. Capacity building of the faculty. Providing of inputs in the field of executive Management programmes.




A group of officials under the leadership of Dr. Rajeev Rai comprising of Mr. PN Nagri, Director Administration and Finance, Dr. P. Subramanian, Director Management Courses and Ms. Eben Bhaskaran, Director Nursing AVK Group discussed the finer points of cooperation as per the MOU. As per the decisions arrived the AVK Group of Institutions will customise the programmes for Development and training of the Faculty of Kampala university school of Nursing. Dr. semyalo showed keen interest in the area of management education also. He was particularly thankful to Dr. Rajeev Rai for initiatives to develop the education and possibilities of training for the faculty and students of Uganda and neighbouring Afarican countries.

AVK Group under the able guidance and leadership of Dr. Rajeev Rai looks to a future as full of possibilities and cooperation between nations globally in the field of Higher education.

Japan visit as a member of INDIA JAPAN GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP SUMMIT 2011

Dr. Rajeev Rai, Chairman, AVK Group Of Institutions Bangalore, participated in India Japan Global partnership Summit (IJGPS-2011).The summit was held on 5th, 6th and 7th of September at Tokyo, Japan. The summit was attended by Dr. Rajeev Rai on the invitation of India Centre. The summit was lead by Dr. Sam Pitroda, Advisor to The Prime Minister Of India and was attended by Industry Leaders like, Mr. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD Reliance Industries, Mr. Rajesh V Shah, Co- Chairman and MD , Mukund Ltd. Besides this the leaders from Industry, Infrastructure, Education and business also attended the summit.
The summit was aimed at a better understanding between the two great nations of the world and to bring together leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, business leaders and policy makers. The intention being to draw a micro road map for the macro vision already existing in the form of India Japan Global Partnership.
The summit served as a platform for both the nations to create new vision and to address new challenges for peace, stability and growth. Focus being on creating sustainable energy efficient and environmentally responsible models. It was also aimed at bonding further the socio cultural, educational and spiritual ties between the two nations to enhance the level of understanding for closer and deeper cooperation.
The summit was organized by India Center and was attended by the former Prime Ministers of Japan along with a high level delegation supported by the Governments of both the countries.
The Prime Minister of Japan invited Dr. Rajeev Rai to a special dinner to understand his view point in the field of education.
